Diplomats Stun No. 8 Generals

Driving rain and high winds were not enough to prevent Franklin & Marshall's Tristan Miller from making his appointed rounds. The Diplomats’ (1-2) freshman scored four times to lead F&M to its first victory of the season, a 7-5 upset of No. 8 Washington & Lee. The win was the Diplomats’ first of the season, and doubled as the Generals’ (6-1) first setback. (more)

Today’s game marks the 23rd meeting between the men’s lacrosse teams from Washington & Lee and Franklin & Marshall since the series began in Lancaster in 1973. Washington & Lee won the initial contest 21-5. The Generals own the advantage in the series, 13-9. This is Washington & Lee’s first trip to Lancaster since 2004 when F&M won 5-3. Seahawks Stymie Diplomats

St. Mary’s started the second half with a five-goal run to take a 9-6 win from Franklin & Marshall at Tylus Field on Saturday. The win was the first of the season for the 1-2 Seahawks, while the Diplomats remain without a win at 0-2. (more)
