Track Wraps up Season

The Franklin & Marshall Track Team finished their season at today’s ECAC Track & Field Championship hosted by Springfield College. Anno Kwaku finished 21st in the 400m and 24th in the long jump. He ran 50.33 and jumped 20’ 05.25”. Erin Gleason took 13th in the shot put (37’11.50”) and 20th in the discuss (112’ 11”). (more)

Burbank Placed Ninth

Lucas Burbank was the only Diplomat competing in today’s ECAC Track & Field Championship hosted by Springfield College. Burbank competed in the javelin. He placed ninth with a throw of 170’ 03”. (more)

Anno Third at Swarthmore

Kwaku Anno placed third in the long jump at this weekend’s Last Chance Meet hosted by Swarthmore College. Anno recorded a leap of 21’10.75”. Lucas Burbank placed sixth in the javelin with throw of 183’9”. (more)

Anno Adds Silver

Franklin & Marshall’s Kwaku Anno added a silver medal to his trophy case at Sunday’s final round of the Centennial Conference Track & Field Championships. Anno ran a 50.18 in the 400m dash to pick up the medal, coming in second to Dickinson’s Sean Denson who ran 49.34. (more)

Anno Earns Bronze in LJ

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s track and field team is in seventh place amongst the nine competing teams two-thirds of the way through the Centennial Conference Championships. (more)

Thompson, Bell Place at Kaiser Classic

Lipton Thompson and Ryan Bell both turned in outstanding performances at this weekend’s non-team-scoring Paul Kaiser Classic, hosted by Shippensburg University. Thompson took fourth place in 200 meter dash with a time of 23.11, .6 behind leader Gabe Henise of York College. (more)

Anno, Thompson Win at Millersville

Lipton Thompson covered 100-meters in 11.11 seconds to edge out Millersville's Anthony Adamski by .01 seconds for first place at the Millersville Metrics. Thompson joined Kwaku Anno as the only Diplomats to capture their events at the predominantly Division II meet. Anno captured the high jump at six feet, giving him two inches on the field. (more)

Bell Placed 2nd in 1500m

Franklin & Marshall placed four women in the 500 meter run at West Chester University on Saturday. Jenna Bush took second with a 19:58.92. Liz Luick came in third at 20:38.7. Grace Thompson and Emily Kornfeld placed sixth and seventh. (more)

Anno Flies at Osprey Open

Kwaku Anno turned in an outstanding performance at this weekend’s non-team-scoring Osprey Open, hosted by Richard Stockton University. Anno took second place in the long jump with a 6.65-meter leap, .12m behind Donnie Hill of Cumberland Community College. He finished third in the 200-meter dash with a 22.65, .12 seconds off of the championship pace run by Wesley’s Larry Beaver. Anno was the fourth finisher in the 400-meter dash, running a 50.11. Carl Schnabel, mentor of the men's and women's track teams at Franklin & Marshall, is a native of Lancaster. He returned to his hometown to coach the Diplomat track teams in the summer of 2003, and currently resides in the city with his wife, Jennifer, and their four children.
