Men’s Cross Country Runs at Mid-Atlantic Regionals

Greg Duckloe paced Franklin & Marshall’s men’s cross country team at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regionals held at Leigh on Saturday. Duckloe finished the 8k course in 27:35, finishing 117th out of 314 runners. Chris Marker, from Allegheny, took first crossing the finish line at 24:54. (more)

Twenty-Seven Diplomats Named to Academic Honor Roll

Twenty-seven Diplomats have been named to the 2009 Centennial Conference (CC) Fall Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must participate in at least 50% of his or her team’s contests, be a sophomore or higher and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40. Diplomat Men Seventh at CC Championships

Franklin & Marshall’s men finished in seventh place in the nine team field at the 2009 Centennial Conference Cross Country Championships. F&M first-years, Angelo Arce and Josh Wesalo were the first Diplomats across the line. (more)

Bell and Duckloe Place in Top 10

Ryan Bell took fourth and Greg Duckloe placed sixth in the non-team scoring Franklin & Marshall Friends of Sarah Run Saturday afternoon at Baker Campus. The meet featured runners from Lancaster Bible, Millersville and F&M. (more)

Bell Places Seventh at Paul Short Run

Ryan Bell led the way for Franklin & Marshall with a seventh-place finish at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University Friday afternoon. Bell covered the eight-kilometer course in 26:17 crossing the line just over a minute and half behind meet champion Shawn Andrea (25:39) from Philadelphia University. (more)

Diplomats and Bell Finish Third

Ryan Bell and Greg Duckloe finished in the top 20 to lead Franklin & Marshall at the York College Invitational II. The Diplomats placed third out of seven teams. Johns Hopkins took first and Navy finished second. (more)

Bell and Arce Finish in Top 20

Ryan Bell and Angelo Arce finished in the top 20 to pace Franklin & Marshall at the 44th Annual Little Three meet. Dickinson defeated F&M and Gettysburg in head-to-head scoring to capture the meet for the 13th consecutive year. (more)

Diplomats Take Second; Bell Places Fourth

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall’s men’s cross country earned a second place finish out of 17 teams at Saturday’s Delaware Valley College Invitational. They fell 65 points shy of Felician College. (more)

Young Harriers Set For Season

John Stoudt is excited about his cross country team heading into his second season at Franklin & Marshall. With his first recruiting class under his belt, the Diplomats are making strides in the long race back to cross country prominence. The 2009 squad will feature 10 first-year runners and five returnees, headlined by Ryan Bell and Franklin Dekker. The return of Erik Olsen, who missed last year, will only help the team. Franklin & Marshall's Director of Athletics and Recreation, Patricia S.W. Epps, announced the hiring of John D. Stoudt of Lancaster as the College's Cross Country Coach. Stoudt is intimately familiar with the local running scene. He served as the Head Cross Country Coach at Lancaster Catholic from 2001 through 2005, and as the Head Track & Field Coach at Lancaster Catholic from 2004 through 2006. He also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Conestoga Valley for several seasons.
