Women's Crew Races the Head of the Fish

Franklin & Marshall’s Women’s Varsity Eight placed 14th out of the 18 boats in the Women’s Collegiate Final at the Head of the Fish Regatta held on Sunday. The Diplomats rowed a 14:03, a shade fewer than two minutes off of the championship pace rowed by the Williams College entry. (more)

Women fall flat at Navy Day in Philadelphia

After a promising start to the week in practice sessions, Franklin and Marshall women’s crew had a less than stellar performance at the Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River. (more)

Women's Rowers Third at Lehigh

F&M women’s crew raced on the Lehigh River against Lehigh University and Loyala (Md.). The format was a head-style race, with crews beginning one after the other and racing against the clock. Each crew covered the course distance twice and combined times determine the winner. (more)

Women's Four Outraces Merchant Mariners

Franklin & Marshall’s rowers scored a victory in the women’s four at the Kings Head Regatta in Bridgeport, PA. The crew of Caitlin Knierim, Erin Feeney, Emily Gorrin, Kate Emert and coxswain Jan Heddens finished the course in 20:13 approximately 2 minutes ahead of the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Six Rowers Named All-Region

Six members of Franklin & Marshall's Crews were named All-Region for the 2007-2008 season. Three men and three women attained All-Mid Atlantic Region status. (more)

Claus Wolter was named Franklin & Marshall's first varsity crew coach in January of 2007. He brings over a quarter century's worth of experience to the Diplomats' newest varsity squad. He spent 18 seasons as the Head Coach of Rowing at Connecticut College in New London, CT where his teams won several New England Championship titles. In his last six seasons guiding the Camels, Wolter's team compiled a 58-11 record. Under his direction, the 1992 team won the Head-of-the-Charles Regatta, and the 1997 squad qualified for the NCAA Championships, taking seventh place in the Varsity Cox 4.
