Rowing Championship Preview

Franklin & Marshall crews are preparing to race in this Saturday's 3rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships, being held at Gifford Pinchot State Park, near Lewisberry, PA. The Diplomats will be entering crews in the Women's Varsity 8, Women's 2nd Varsity 8, and the Men's Varsity 8 events. The MARC is comprised of 8 women's Division III varsity programs from Bryn Mawr College, Marietta College (OH), North Park University (IL), Richard Stockton College (NJ), Rutgers-Camden (NJ), University of Mary Washington (VA), Washington College (MD), and Franklin & Marshall. Men's club or varsity programs from each of these institutions also compete in the MARC Championships. (more)

Crew Wins Seahawk Sprint

The women's varsity 8 team of Jan Heddens-cox, Brittany George-stroke, Alex Merrick, Morgan Burgess, Caitlin Knierim, Katie Winfree, Kate Emert, Allison Ercolano and Haley Post placed 1st (of 5) at the Seahawk Sprint. The team came in 15 seconds faster than second place finisher St. Mary’s (6:38.4) with a time of 6:23.7. (more)

Diplomats Compete at Murphy Cup; Women Take Second

The women's varsity 8 team of Jan Heddens-cox, Brittany George-stroke, Alex Merrick, Morgan Burgess, Caitlin Knierim, Seymone Killins, Katie Winfree, Allison Ercolano, Haley Post placed 2nd (of 9) at Murphy Cup today in the DII/DIII event. The team came in second in their heat, less than two seconds behind Bryn Mawr, and ended up with the second fastest time of the six crews that qualified for the final. (more)

Varsity 4 Takes Third at Occoquan Sprints

Franklin & Marshall competed at the Occoquan Sprints in Fairfax Station on Sunday afternoon. There were 23 teams represented at the regatta, and the Diplomats faced boats from Division III and Division I programs. (more)

Diplomats Take Third at Lehigh

Franklin & Marshall competed at the 2010 Neuweiler Plate on Saturday hosted by Lehigh on the Lehigh River. Lafayette won the Neuweiler Plate with 304 points with Lehigh in second place with 295 points, Franklin & Marshall in third with 231 and Penn State placing fourth with 224 points. (more)

Diplomats Crews Open Spring Season

Franklin & Marshall’s opened the spring season under new head coach Rob Weber on Saturday. The rowers headed into a strong current for the four heats over the 1,000-meter course on the Schuylkill. (more)






Baseball Action - 1953 vs. Gettysburg




Weber joined the Franklin & Marshall rowing staff in 2008, bringing several years of experience to the program. He has served as an assistant coach at William and Mary in two separate stints and assisted at Savannah College of Art and Design. At Savannah, Weber was primarily responsible for coaching novice men, and produced a crew that placed second at the Southeastern Regional Championships and third at the Clemson Sprints. His crew also placed 13th at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship Regatta (SIRA), winning the C Final with the ninth fastest overall time.
