Twenty-One Diplomats Named to Academic Honor Roll

Twenty-one Diplomats have been named to the 2009-10 Centennial Conference (CC) Winter Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must participate in at least 50% of his or her team's contests, be a sophomore or higher and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40. Diplomats Continue to Break Records at Virginia Tech

Megan Hunter and Sheena Crawley, along with the women’s 4x400-meter relay team, broke their own school records at the Virginia Tech Final Qualifier indoor track and field meet Saturday. Both the men’s and women’s Franklin & Marshall squads were impressive at the meet, representing the only Division III team competing. (more)

4x400 Team Resets Record

For the second week in a row, the Franklin & Marshall women’s 4x400 relay team set a conference mark. Megan Hunter and Sheena Crawley collected two top-five finishes each to lead the Franklin & Marshall women’s indoor track and field team to a fifth- place finish at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships. 4x400 Team Sets CC Record

Franklin & Marshall’s women’s 4x400 relay team set a school and Centennial Conference (CC) record this weekend at the Princeton Invitational. The team of Megan Hunter, Sheena Crawley, Caitlin Regan and Henley Siegrist turned in a time of 4:02.15. The invitational was a non-team scoring meet featuring athletes from all three divisions. Diplomats Earn Top Honors at Susquehanna

Several Diplomats earned top honors at the Susquehanna Invitational indoor track and field meet Saturday. Leading the women was Megan Hunter, who won the 400-meter dash out of 38 runners with a time of 1:00.29. (more)

Siegrist Wins 55m and 200m

Henley Siegrist won the 55-meter and 200-meter dash on Saturday at the Coach I Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall. Siegrist ran 7.89 in the 55m and a 27.78 in 200m. The meet was a non-team scoring event and featured participants from Division's II and III. (more)

Crawley Named CC Athlete of the Week

Sheena Crawley obtained the school mark in the 3,000-meter on Saturday at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna College. Crawley took first in the 3,000 meter crossing the line at 10:34.61. She broke the record that stood for over 15 years. Lois Lucente '86 ran a 10:45.0 back in 1985. Crawley has set a school in every event this season. (more)

Carl Schnabel, mentor of the men's and women's track teams at Franklin & Marshall, is a native of Lancaster. He returned to his hometown to coach the Diplomat track teams in the summer of 2003, and currently resides in the city with his wife, Jennifer, and their four children.
