Diplomats Land Pair on All-CC Team

Two members of Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team were awarded All-Centennial Conference honors when the team was announced on Friday afternoon. Junior Margot Phelan was named to the First Team, while sophomore, Maritza Fair earned Second Team honors. (more)

Volleyball Spikes Swat

Maritza Fair recorded 28 kills to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 3-2 (28-30, 33-31, 30-22, 28-30, 15-10) win over Swarthmore on Saturday. The Diplomats wrap up the regular season at 20-10 (7-4 CC) with the win, and will await word for an ECAC bid next Monday. (more)

Seniors Sweep Saturday

Host Franklin & Marshall overcame Muhlenberg, 3-1 (30-26, 25-30, 30-27, 30-22) Saturday in a Centennial Conference volleyball match before defeating St. Mary's Md., 3-1 (20-30, 31-29, 35-33, 30-21) in non-conference play. The win marks the second over St. Mary's for the Diplomats this season. Franklin & Marshall improves to 17-10, 5-4 CC. (more)

Devils Drop Diplomats

Elly Gosheva recorded 21 kills to lead Dickinson College to a 3-2 (30-25, 16-30, 22-30, 30-17, 15-9) win over Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball Wednesday evening. (more)

Volleyball Upsets #11 Haverford

Host Franklin & Marshall upset #11 Haverford, 3-1 (20-30, 30-27, 30-25, 30-24) Saturday afternoon in a Centennial Conference volleyball match. The loss snapped Haverford's program-record 24 match winning streak to start the season. The Fords are now 24-1 overall and 6-1 in Centennial play. Franklin & Marshall improved to 16-9 and 4-3, respectively, with the win. (more)

Volleyball Drops to Hop

Johns Hopkins used a total team effort to defeat Franklin & Marshall 3-1 in volleyball at the Mayser Center Wednesday evening. Kim Jackanich and Adrienne Young combined for 25 kills to lead Hopkins (19-4, 5-1 CC) to the Centennial Conference win. (more)

Diplomats Back on Track

Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team ended its four-match slide with a pair of wins at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday. The Diplomats (15-8) defeated Pitt-Greensburg 3-1 (30-26, 30-26, 28-30, 30-20), and followed that with a 3-1 win over Lake Erie College (22-30, 30-25, 30-19, 30-23). (more)

Tartans Down Volleyball

Franklin & Marshall's volleyball team dropped its fourth match in as many outings, falling 3-1 to Carnegie Mellon in the first round of the Tartans' Invitational on Friday evening. Game scores were 30-18, 28-30, 30-21, 30-22. (more)

Volleyball Falls at McDaniel

Taylor Hergott recorded 21 kills and eight blocks to lead McDaniel College to a 3-1 Centennial Conference (CC) win over Franklin & Marshall Wednesday evening. The loss marks the first time the Diplomats (13-7, 3-2 CC) have fallen to the Green Terror (9-4, 4-0 CC) since the 1999 season, ending a nine-match F&M run on the series. (more)

Former All-Region setter Mary Kate Boland '01 returned to Franklin & Marshall College in the fall of 2003 as the 10th head coach in Diplomats' volleyball history and has had a dramatic impact on the program leading the team to the 2005 Centennial Conference title match. A 1998-2000 American Volleyball Coaches Association All Mid-Atlantic Region player, she averaged 10.19 assists per game to lead the Diplomats to a school record 34-6 mark, a perfect 10-0 conference record, the Centennial Conference Tournament title and a "Sweet 16" finish in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament as a senior.
