MIDDLETOWN, CT - Franklin & Marshall College picked up eight 3-0 victories as the Diplomats shutout Wesleyan College 9-0 in men's squash.
George Edwards (Jr., Bryn Mawr, PA/Harriton) coasted to a 9-0, 9-3, 9-0 win at #1 over Andrew Rozas, while Satyajit Seshadri (So., Chennai, India/Gill Adarsh) rolled out to a 2-0 lead but had to hold off a challenge by Evan Lodge for a 3-2 (9-6, 9-5, 5-9, 4-9, 9-0) victory at #2.
Jehangir Aibara (Fr., Mumbai, India/Doon School) knocked off Dylan Rav 3-0 (9-2, 9-4, 9-2) at #3, Ed Bryan (Jr., Katonah, NY/Choate Rosemary) won 3-0 (9-2, 9-1, 9-0) over Omair Sarwar at #4, Will Rienhoff (Fr., Baltimore, MD/Gilman) handled Umay Suanda 3-0 (9-3, 9-3, 9-3) at #5, Seth Cruice (Fr., Darien, CT/Greens Farms Academy) defeated Phil Wallach 3-0 (9-2, 9-3, 9-2) at #6, Tom Kiefhaber (Sr., Cincinnati, OH/Seven Hills Upper School) was victorious over Jon Golden 3-0 (9-3, 9-2, 9-7) at #7, while Evan Burton (Jr., Atlanta, GA/Cranbrook Kingswood) and Ed Otocka (Jr., Riverside, CT/Greenwich) picked up 3-0 wins at #8 (9-2, 9-0, 9-4) and #9 (9-2, 9-2, 9-2), respectively.
The win raises Franklin & Marshall's record to 19-4 all-time against Wesleyan as the Diplomats have won the last nine meetings and improves F&M head coach John Stallings to 196-131 all-time as he is now six wins away from surpassing William Marshall (201-113) as the all-time winningest coach in program history.
Franklin & Marshall (5-4) will return to action on January 16 versus Bowdoin at Yale.
