BOILING SPRINGS, NC - Mike Parziale (Jr., Woburn, MA/Woburn) won 11-4 over Gardner Webb's Adam Glaser at 157 lbs. and pinned Casey Galligan of Campbell in 1:51 at 165 lbs. to lead the Franklin & Marshall College wrestling team in losses to Gardner Webb (43-3 L) and Campbell (24-17 L) at Gardner Webb.
Against the Camels of Campbell, F&M took an early lead as Rich Gebauer (Sr., South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) won 11-1 over Caleb Lesnoff for a major decision at 133 lbs. after the 125 lbs. match was not contested due to a double forfeit.
Campbell roared back as Elliott Berger and Billy Sheridan took decisions at 141 and 149 lbs. before F&M's Andrew Smith (Fr., Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) downed Morgan DuFresne 13-2 for a major decision at 157 lbs.
Wrestling up a weight after competing at 157 lbs. prior to the match, Parziale dropped Galligan in 1:51 to put the Diplomats back in the match, but Brian Hocum and Lantz Nixon recorded pins at 174 and 184.
Following a forfeit to the Camels at 197 lbs., F&M closed to within seven points in the dual match score as heavyweight Shawn Coughlin (So., Berkley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston) took a 7-3 decision over Pruitt Rainey to account for the 24-17 final score.
Versus Gardner Webb, the Runnin' Bulldogs won nine of the 10 matches as the team picked up three forfeits, three pin falls, two technical falls and a decision to down the Diplomats 43-3.
Franklin & Marshall (3-11) will return to the mat on January 30 at Davidson College. Match time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
