LANCASTER, PA - The Franklin & Marshall men's squash team recorded seven 3-0 victories on its way to a 9-0 victory over visiting Colgate in the Mayser Center.
Franklin & Marshall, which recorded 3-0 wins at #1-5, were challenged at #6 and #9 as Will Rienhoff (Fr., Baltimore, MD/Gilman) came back from an imposing 2-0 deficit to defeat Marc Culp 3-2 (8-10, 9-5, 9-3, 9-1, 9-4) at #6 and Will Zellweger (So., Rye, NY/Kent) downed Brad Marshaulk 3-1 (9-2, 5-9, 9-0, 9-6) at #9.
The best match of the day occurred at #1 as Satyajit Seshadri (So., Chennai, India/Gil Adarsh) swept Fisk Biggar 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 before #2 George Edwards (Jr., Bryn Mawr, PA/Harriton) defeated Pete Van Roden 9-1, 9-0, 9-2.
Historically, the win raises F&M to 5-0 all-time against Colgate in men's squash and moves Franklin & Marshall head coach John Stallings to within four victories of surpassing longtime coach William "Doc" Marshall (201-113 from 1974-91) for the first place in career wins. Currently, Stallings is 197-133 for his career in 17 seasons.
Franklin & Marshall (6-6) will return to action on February 4 at Trinity (CT). Match time is set for 7:00 0.m.
