Jan. 12, 2007

HAMPTON, Va. - Virginia Duals American Division Results

The Franklin & Marshall wrestlers split their first two matches at the 2007 Virginia Duals. F&M fell 43-9 to Roger Williams in the championship bracket, but pulled out a 24-21 win over Anderson in the first round of consolations.

Andrew Smith picked up a pair of victories on the afternoon. His 5-2 decision over Roger Williams' Kyle Rodgers was the only contested victory for the Diplomats in that match. Smith followed that effort with a 12-0 major decision over Allen Hampton in the Diplomats' win over Anderson, bringing his record to 7-7 on the year.

Al Gianforti moved to 13-4 on the season after coming out on both ends of a major decision. James Schulz recorded his first pin of the season decking Anderson's Matt Godwin in the second period.
