GREENSBORO, N.C. - Nico Somers was Franklin & Marshall's
only wrestler still active on the second day of competition at the
Southern Scuffle, hosted by UNC-Greensboro. The Diplomats'
heavyweight was bumped from the consolation bracket in his first
match on Tuesday, dropping a 5-2 decision to Dustin Porter of
Gardner Webb. Somers went 2-2 at the Scuffle, moving his record to
8-6 on the season. His best tournament finish this season was a
fourth-place medal at the Michigan State Open in November.
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday when F&M travels
to Penn for an Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA)
match with the Quakers.
