LANCASTER, Pa. - Connecticut College got the
better of Franklin & Marshall's women's squash team for the
second time this season, defeating the Diplomats 7-2 at the Howe
Cup, taking place at Princeton this weekend. F&M is competing
in the Epps Cup, which will sort teams 25 through 32. The Camels
(4-17) previously defeated F&M (2-13) 8-1 back on January 18.
F&M picked up wins at No. 5 and No. 6. At No. 5, Kelsey Tylus worked
a 3-0 sweep of Victoria Leeds (9-6, 9-2, 9-4) to pick up her third
straight win. Dana
Russo needed five games to dispatch Liz Bailey 9-2, 7-9, 5-9,
9-6, 9-2 for her second win in her last three matches.
No. 4 Courtney
Mulligan had her three-match win streak snapped by Laura
Robertson 9-0, 10-8, 5-9, 4-9, 9-5, while Connecticut won all of
the other scoring matches in three.
F&M's Erin
Jaffe defeated Christy Clothier 3-1 in the exhibition, 6-9,
9-7, 9-3, 9-0. Jaffe has now won two of her last three matches.
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday at 4:30 pm, when they
will face either Wesleyan or Smith.
