#2 Penn too Much for F&M

Agate

LANCASTER, Pa. -- #2 Penn needed an hour an 15 minutes to hand #27 Franklin & Marshall a 9-0 setback in women's squash at the Mayser Center Wednesday evening.  The Quakers (6-0) posted 3-0 sweeps down the ladder to knock off the Diplomats (1-6).

The Diplomats are the third of Penn's sweeps in their six matches so far this season. F&M joins Brown and Middlebury in that club. Only Cornell, Stanford and Yale have managed to take matched from Penn this season.

Freshman Sheena Suckoo  was the only Diplomat who managed to register a point in each of her three games in the scoring matches. Suckoo fell 9-1, 9-1, 9-5 to Allie Madeira in the fourth position. Erin Jaffe scored in each game of the exhibition match. She ultimately fell to Allie Friedman 9-4, 9-1, 9-1.

Ellie Foster and Davinia Buckley each fell 0-0-2 at the first and second positions, respectively. Sydney Scott did the damage at the top for the Quakers, while Britt Hebden went to work in the second spot.

The Diplomats will look to right the ship this weekend at the Yale Round Robin. F&M takes on St. Lawrence Friday evening, and will face Wellesley, Bates and Amherst before the weekend is through.
