LANCASTER, Pa. -- #5 Penn handed a 9-0 defeat to #18 Franklin & Marshall in women's squash Wednesday evening. The Diplomats (0-3) fell to their third consecutive top ten opponent hailing from the Ivy League. The Quakers (1-1) picked up their first win of the season.
Morgan Smith ran out to a 5-2 lead and held on for an 11-9 win in the first. The Quakers' Nabilla Ariffin rallied to take the next three games for a 9-11, 11-0, 11-5, 11-4 win at number one. Penn took the remainder of the scoring matches 3-0.
F&M's Hannah Davis turned in a win in the exhibition match, defeating Josy Blair 11-5, 11-0, 11-5.
F&M returns to action on Friday evening at Williams College.
