Box Score CHESTERTOWN, MD –F&M's Selena Boro ended
a scoreless game against Washington College with a header in the
51st minute. The ball was sent in by Carley
Nicholson across the box as Boro found the back of the net.
Washington answered back seven minutes later when freshmen
Heather Smith bent in a long, tough-angle shot from wide right of
the goal off an assist from teammate Ainsley Boynton. F&M
pressed forward to regain the lead in the 63rd minute off a goal by
Nancy
Epstein. Shelby Cummins
scored her second goal of the year in the 79th minute sealing the
win for the Diplomats.
F&M took 11 of their 17 shots in the second half where they
converted on three of them. Washington College was held to 10 shots
for the length of the game.
F&M freshman goalkeeper Hannah Barry had
four saves for the night while junior Shorewoman Tori Ripple had
seven.Centennial Conference win and improved to 4-2 overall (1-0
CC).
The Diplomats return to action at home on Tuesday
Franklin & Marshall earned its first against Gettysburg.
Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
