LANCASTER, Pa. - Princeton blanked Franklin & Marshall, 9-0, in the season opener for both squads in women's squash action on Saturday in Lancaster. The 17th-ranked Diplomats start their 2011-12 campaign at 0-1 with the loss, while the third-ranked Tigers move to 1-0.
The Tigers put together an impressive performance as each of their nine victories came in straight sets. Several matches were narrow defeats for F&M, but the Diplomats were unable to come away with any victories on the afternoon.
At the No. 8 position, Stephanie Tzarnas battled Princeton's Katherine Schloss to the closest score of the day for F&M, but Schloss escaped with an 11-7, 11-6, 11-7 triumph.
F&M returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 20 to host No. 8 Dartmouth at 11:00 am.
