NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Roxanna Mead recorded three wins to lead the No. 17 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team to a 2-2 record on the weekend. The Diplomats (2-6) sandwiched a pair of victories against No. 22 Colby and No. 19 Bowdoin in between losses to top-10 foes Williams and Trinity (Conn.).
F&M opened its weekend with a trifecta of matches at the Yale Round Robin on Friday and Saturday, before traveling to Trinity on Sunday. The Diplomats fell to No. 10 Williams, 8-1, to begin the weekend action. Mead notched the only victory for F&M at the No. 2 spot with a back-and-forth 11-6, 8-11, 11-2, 3-11, 11-9 win over Courtney Bogle.
The Diplomats bounced back with wins over Colby (7-2) and Bowdoin (6-3) on Saturday. Against Colby, Mead (No. 2), Chelsea Ross (No. 4), Katherine Perry (No. 5), Krista Lancione (No. 6), Elizabeth Gatling (No. 7), Gabby Robinson (No. 8) and Tanya Arora (No. 9) tallied victories.
In the victory over Bowdoin, Morgan Smith (No. 1), Mead, Halley Cruice (No. 3), Ross, Perry and Gatling posted wins, while Robinson and Arora were both narrowly edged out at their respective spots.
The Diplomats concluded the busy weekend with a 9-0 loss at the hands of No. 5 Trinity.
F&M returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 18 to host St. Lawrence at 4:30 pm.
