LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall took down visiting St. Lawrence, 6-3, in men's squash action on Wednesday night at the Mayser Center. The No. 8 Diplomats have now won four of their last five matches and improve to 4-4 on the year, while the No. 12 Saints fall to 6-3.
Gabriel de Melo and Guilherme de Melo led the way for F&M with three-game victories at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Gabriel downed Vir Seth 11-6, 11-7, 11-4, while Guilherme defeated Kyle Ogilvy 11-4, 11-7, 11-7 to remain perfect on the year.
Alex Arjoon posted a four-game triumph at the No. 4 spot with a 11-5, 7-11, 12-10, 11-6 score over Seb Reidelsheimer, while Ryan Mullaney also nabbed a victory in four games at No. 5, overcoming a 10-12 setback in the opening game to outlast Chris Fernandez 11-8, 11-4, 11-8 in the ensuing three games to secure the win.
At No. 3 and No. 9, respectively, Mauricio Sedano (11-3, 6-11, 6-11, 11-0, 11-4) and Freddy Hernandez (9-11, 11-6, 11-6, 9-11, 11-3) tallied five-game wins.
The Diplomats travel to Philadelphia for a top-10 showdown with No. 9 Penn on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
