NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Franklin & Marshall rolled to shutout victories over No. 27 Tufts and No. 21 Connecticut College in men's squash action on Saturday at the Pioneer Valley Invitational. The No. 8 Diplomats have now won four straight and move to 7-4 with the pair of wins.
The Diplomats won in convincing fashion against both Tufts (5-3) and Connecticut College (9-7) with matching 9-0 scores, dropping just one game along the way. Guilherme de Melo moved to 11-0 on the year, securing his first win of the season at the No. 1 spot against Tufts' Zach Schweitzer, before taking down Connecticut's Chris King at No. 2.
Alex Arjoon and Ryan Mullaney have now each won four straight matches after picking up two victories on Saturday, while Aadit Zaveri has now tallied three in a row. Freddy Hernandez, Brian Henry and David Snyder also picked up a pair of wins on the day for F&M. Gabriel de Melo, Jack Cutler, Adnan Abdulhusein and Matt Gagnier each contributed one win to the Diplomat lineup.
F&M wraps up the Pioneer Valley Invitational on Sunday with a matchup against No. 19 Wesleyan (Conn.) at noon.
