LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall secured top placings in eight of 11 events to take down Dickinson, 129-76, in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action on Saturday. The Diplomats move to 6-2, 6-0 CC with the victory, while the Red Devils fall to 9-3, 4-1 CC.
Katherine Grant and Katherine DeCrosta paced F&M with two individual first-place finishes on the day. Grant took first in the 1000 freestyle at 10:39.41, before edging the field in the 500 freestyle with a mark of 5:16.43. DeCrosta also put together an impressive day for F&M, winning the 200 IM (2:15.82) and 200 breastroke (2:34.24).
DeCrosta also teamed with Caitlyn Fuller, Jackie Behr and Rebecca Daen to win the 200 medley relay with a mark of 1:54.81 in the opening race of the afternoon.
Krista Hollingsworth captured top honors in the 200 freestyle at 1:58.26, with Maggie Johns taking second in 2:01.53. Johns later placed first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:16.91, while Hollingsworth also nabbed a second-place finish with a mark of 55.47 in the 100 freestyle.
Behr won the 50 freestyle in 25.64, followed by Daen in second at 25.76. Behr later took third in the 100 freestyle at 56.52.
On top of her contributions to the winning 200 medley relay, Fuller recorded two top-three individual finishes for F&M. The sophomore took second in the 200 backstroke (2:18.28) and third in the 200 IM (2:18.88).
Christina Werner and Rebecca Citti completed the sweep of the 200 breastroke for the Diplomats with times of 2:35.40 and 2:35.91, respectively, to finish second and third.
Olivia Hill (1000 freestyle, 10:19.82) and Garland Bartlett (5:26.51) secured third in the 1000 and 500 freestyles, respectively, to post the other top-three finishes of the day for F&M.
The Diplomats wrap up their regular season next Saturday at Gettysburg in CC action at 1:00 pm.
