LANCASTER, Pa. - Richard Durso, Matt Fullowan and Matt Latessa each picked up victories for the Franklin & Marshall wrestling team in a 27-12 defeat to visiting Boston on Friday night at the Mayser Center. The Diplomats fall to 0-8 with the loss, while the Terriers have now won five straight and improve to 5-1.

Durso tallied the first F&M points of the day at 141 with a 2-0 decision over Tyler Scotton. After a scoreless first two periods, Durso took a 1-0 advantage with an escape at the 1:57 mark of period three. The freshman then held off Scotton in the closing seconds to pull the Diplomats within 9-3.

Fullowan and Hunter Meys also battled in a low-scoring decision at 174, with Fullowan coming away with a 3-1 victory. The senior recorded a two-point nearfall at the 1:32 mark of period two to break a scoreless tie, and went on to maintain control for the rest of the bout to preserve the victory.

Latessa secured the win at 184 over Alex Najjar via injury default. Early on in period one, Latessa emphatically tossed Najjar to the side, sending the Boston sophomore down to the mat. Najjar was unable to return due to injury, giving Latessa the win.

At 149, Andrew Murano came up just short in one of the more exciting matchups of the night opposite Nestor Taffur. After falling behind early, Murano seized momentum in the third period, nearly turning a 10-3  deficit into a win. The sophomore registered four takedowns in the final period to close within two points, but Taffur escaped with the victory as Murano ran out of time to complete the comeback.

F&M returns to the mat for a pair of home matches against Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) opponents on Saturday. The Diplomats face off against Brown at 10:00 am, before meeting Harvard at 3:00 pm.
