GENEVA, N.Y. - Franklin & Marshall swept past Hobart, 9-0, with three-game wins at each position in men's squash action on Sunday. The No. 8 Diplomats improve to 9-6 with the victory, while the No. 27 Statesmen fall to 10-15.
Brian Henry and Freddy Hernandez both held their respective opponents scoreless in one game at the No. 6 and No. 7 spots, respectively. Henry downed William Boyle 11-4, 11-2, 11-0, while Hernandez notched a commanding 11-0, 11-1, 11-1 victory over Grant Bercari.
Several other Diplomats came close to posting shutout wins in at least one game as Guilherme de Melo (11-5, 11-1, 11-1), Ryan Mullaney (11-7, 11-1, 11-4) and Pat Cunnigham (11-4, 11-1, 11-1) each secured convincing triumphs. Gabriel de Melo, Alex Arjoon, Sujat Barua, Pat Cunningham and Adnan Abdulhusein also tallied straight-game victories on the afternoon for F&M.
The Diplomats return home to host George Washington on Friday at 6:00 pm to open a three-match homestand next weekend.
