MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's swimming team won seven of 11 events against Millersville on Saturday afternoon, taking the meet by a score of 123-81. The Diplomats improved to 4-2 with the victory, while the Marauders fell to 2-4.
Katherine Grant won two individual events on the day and was a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that placed first in the last event of the meet. Grant picked up her first win in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:47.45.
Teammate Maggie Johns placed second in 10:59.97, followed by Alexia Tomlinson in third with a time of 11:06.03.
Grant also won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:20.29, followed by Tomlinson who touched the wall second at 5:26.12. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Grant, Johns, Tomlinson and Jackie Behr closed out the meet with a first-place finish and a time of 3:50.10.
Krista Hollingsworth also had an impressive showing for F&M, winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.95 and finishing first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.95.
Caitlyn Fuller and Johns also picked up individual victories for the Diplomats, with Fuller winning the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:21.14 and Johns touching the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:16.54.
F&M returns to the pool Friday to face off against McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The meet takes place at McGinness Pool and starts at 6:00 p.m.
