F&M Downed by No. 4 Princeton

LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 15 Franklin & Marshall fell to No. 4 Princeton by a 9-0 score on Saturday afternoon in women's squash action at the Mayser Center. The defeat was the first of the year for the Diplomats (2-1), while the Tigers earned the victory in their season opener (1-0). 

Princeton swept all nine matchups, but F&M battled in a number of games. Fiona Murphy fell 11-6, 11-3, 11-7 at No. 1, while Emily Caldwell was easily handled in her opening two games at 11-2, 11-2, before coming up just short in the third (11-8).

Roxanna Mead competed at No. 4, falling by an 11-7, 11-6, 11-6 score. Jazmin Matos fought hard at the No. 7 spot but was unable to come away with a win after Alex Sawin of the Tigers earned the 11-6, 11-8, 11-8 sweep. 

The Diplomats look to get back on track when F&M returns to the court on Thursday, Dec. 5, for a 6:00 p.m. contest against Dartmouth at home.
