LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Alex Henry paced the Franklin & Marshall wrestling team with a third place finish in the 285 bracket of the Cradle Gear Invitational, hosted by Lock Haven, on Sunday afternoon. The Diplomats finished with 18 points, good for an eighth place finish out of 10 competing teams. Michigan State took the team title with 105 points. 

Henry, competing at 285, dropped down into the consolation bracket after being pinned by the No. 1 seed Mike McClure of Michigan State in the semifinals, before rattling off a pair of wins to take third place. Henry defeated James Benjamin of Buffalo with an 8-3 decision and followed with a 3-1 decision against Justin Kozera of Gardner-Webb in the finals. 

Jason Bing earned a victory in the championship bracket of 125 with a pin of Michigan State's Brenan Lyon in the opening round. He followed with an 8-3 decision in the consolations before wrapping up the tournament with a narrow 5-3 loss to eventual third place finisher, Mike Soria of Buffalo.

At 133, Robert Ruiz bounced back from a defeat in the opening round of the championship bracket with an 8-6 decision over Nathan Coburn of Old Dominion before dropping a decision in his next bout. 

Rob King ran off a pair of wins in the consolation bracket of 165 after dropping his opening bout by decision in the championship round. King responded with a dominant 10-1 major in his first consolation matchup before following up with an 8-4 decision over Ryan Forrest of George Mason. His competition ended in the next round with a 10-4 loss to eventual third place winner Travis Curley of Michigan State. 

Competing at 184 for F&M, Adam Schroeder pinned Terry Henderson of Gardner-Webb for his only win on the day.

The Diplomats return to the mat this Saturday to host the second annual F&M Open. The all day event is scheduled to take place at the Alumni Sport and Fitness Center's Schnader Fieldhouse.
