LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 10 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team fell by a 9-0 score to No. 5 Harvard on Monday afternoon at the Mayser Center. The Diplomats dropped to 5-4 on the season, while the Crimson improved to 4-2.
Abhishek Pradhan saw action for the first time this season, competing at No. 1 for F&M. The sophomore from Mumbai, India avoided the sweep with an 11-9 win in the third, but came up short by a 3-1 score (11-6, 11-5, 9-11, 11-7).
Dylan Cunningham won F&M's only other game on the day, battling Harvard's Bradley Smith at No. 3, but falling by a 3-1 tally (11-9, 11-5, 11-13, 11-5). Michael Sorochev fought hard at No. 7, narrowly being edged out in a pair of games as Harvard's Matt Roberts held on for the sweep (11-1, 12-10, 12-10).
Taking part in an exhibition match, the Diplomats' Chris Bown downed his opponent by a 3-2 mark (8-11, 11-7, 11-8, 6-11, 12-10).
F&M continues a string of home competitions tomorrow when the Diplomats host No. 2 Trinity at 5:00 p.m.
