CARLISLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall compiled seven first-place victories en route to a 116-89 victory over Dickinson on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action. The Diplomats improved to 6-2, 5-1 CC, while the Red Devils fell to 8-3, 3-2 CC.
Freshman Bridget Dromerick earned F&M's first victory with a win in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 10:40.17, finishing 19 seconds ahead of Dickinson's Brennan Caroline (10:59.30).
Katherine Grant (1:59.98) and Leeza Rojas (2:00.67) finished first and second, respectively, in the 200-yard freestyle, and Jillian Albus won the 50-yard freestyle at 25.83, while adding a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle at 56.28.
In the 200-yard individual medley, Melissa Mulllin (2:16.18) edged Red Devils swimmer Caitlin Klockner (2:16.28) to bring home first-place points, while Kellen McDonald (2:19.31) placed second in the 200-yard butterfly, followed by Courtney Collins in third at 2:22.49.
Dromerick added another win in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.29, and Grant earned her second victory of the day in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:19.46.
Mullin finished up the day earning first-place points for the Diplomats in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:33.94.
F&M returns to McGinness Pool for its final home meet of the season next Saturday against Gettysburg at 1:00 p.m.
