LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall fell to Gettysburg 147-115 in women's Centennial Conference (CC) swimming action on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats slipped to 6-3, 5-2 CC, while the Bullets improved to 8-2, 6-1 CC.
Seniors Katherine Grant and Mary Ann Robison were honored before the meet on senior day.
Grant earned a win in the first individual race of the day, the 1,000-yard freestyle, with a time of 10:48.62, followed by Breann Cavanagh in second at 10:50.76.
Bridget Dromerick was impressive throughout the day, earning first-place victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.36), and the 500-yard freestyle (5:16.18). The freshman added a second-place spot in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:14.17.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Courtney Collins (1:02.54) was barely edged out by Gettysburg's Sydney Boswell (1:02.35) for first place.
Jillian Albus touched first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.42, and she added a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (55.94), followed by Grant in third (56.94).
In the 200-yard butterfly, Kellen McDonald placed first at 2:14.17, while Melissa Mullin won the 200-yard individual medley, touching the wall at 2:13.35.
F&M returns to action on Friday, Feb. 20 at Day 1 of the CC Championships hosted by Gettysburg. Day 1 preliminaries are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
