Box Score HARRISBURG, Pa. – A pair of first-half goals propelled Franklin & Marshall's women's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout of Penn St.-Harrisburg on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference competition.
The Diplomats improved to 3-4 while the Nittany Lions fell to 3-5.
Just 12 minutes into the opening stanza, F&M lit the scoreboard when Kyra Judge took a feed from Sabrina Graziano and found the back of the net for the 1-0 advantage.
The score held until the 31st minute when the Diplomats' leading goal-scorer Reanna Leoni tallied her fourth of the season to put F&M ahead by two.
Penn St.-Harrisburg threated in the second half, dominating in shots with an 8-0 edge but was unable to get any points on the board.
Nicole Savidge (2-2) was clutch in the second half with five crucial saves. She turned back a total of six shots to earn the win and her second shutout of the year. Her counterpart Kayla Arnold (1-1) suffered the loss despite four saves on the day.
Shots favored the Nittany Lions at 9-8, along with corners at 6-3. Leoni led the way with three shots, followed by Judge with two.
Centennial Conference (CC) action continues for F&M on Saturday when Ursinus heads to Lancaster for a 3:00 p.m. matchup.
