PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Franklin & Marshall took part in a pair of Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) dual meet competitions on Saturday, suffering losses on the road against Harvard (36-6) and Brown (36-4).

The Diplomats dropped to 2-5, 0-4 EIWA with the pair of defeats, while Harvard improved to 1-3 and Brown moved to 3-2.

Against Harvard, Edgar Garcia got F&M off to a promising start with a 4-2 win at 125. Garcia recorded takedowns in each of the first two periods to deliver a 3-0 lead to the Diplomats. It was all Crimson from there as Harvard followed with seven straight victories to secure the match. 

Anthony Mancini (184) recorded F&M's other decision on the day, picking up an escape in the second sudden victory period to earn a hard-fought 2-1 decision. 

F&M traveled to Providence, R.I., later in the day to square off with the Bears and once again hung with an EIWA opponent early in the match. After falling behind by a 6-0 score with decisions from Brown at 125 and 133, Paddy Quinlan (141) got the Diplomats on board with a 13-4 major that cut the deficit to two. 

Brown rolled from there, winning each of the last seven bouts, and recording bonus points in three of the matchups, to win by 30 points. 

The Diplomats wrap up their New England road swing tomorrow with a 3:00 p.m. competition against Sacred Heart.
