Diplomats Heading to Penn for Keystone Classic

LANCASTER, Pa. - Following a strong performance at last weekend's season-opening Bearcat Open Tournament, hosted by Binghamton, the Franklin & Marshall wrestling team is aiming to continue their momentum by competing at Sunday's 23rd annual Keystone Classic, hosted by Penn.

Action begins at 10:00 a.m. in the Palestra.

A Look at the Keystone Classic: A total of 10 teams are slated to compete at the Invitational on Sunday, including defending National-Champion Penn State, as well as fellow Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) foes Drexel, Harvard, and Sacred Heart.

Last year saw Brett Kulp pace the Diplomats with a fifth-place finish in the 141-pound bracket, while F&M secured 10th place with 27 team points. To read a recap of the 2017 event, click here.

Last Week: Four Diplomats earned top-five finishes at last Sunday's Bearcat Open, hosted by Binghamton. Brett Kulp (141) and Anthony Mancini (184) led the way with second-place showings in their respective brackets while Antonio Pelusi (285) secured third and Philip Robilotto (197) nabbed fifth.

Wins Leaders: Kulp and Pelusi each lead the team with identical 4-1 records. Manici is 3-1 overall, while P. Robilotto holds a 3-2 mark. To view complete 2018-19 season statistics for F&M's wrestlers, click here

Record Book Watch: Antonio Pelusi enters the week with a 62-45 dual record for his career, which places 20th on F&M's all-time list. Paddy Quinlan (51-44) and Anthony Mancini (51-49) are tied for 30th. Rick Durso '16 leads the Diplomats with a 145-38 career mark.

Quinlan is 15th with 18 career pins. Justin Herbert '09 leads that category with 35.

EIWA Tickets: Tickets are now on sale for the 2019 EIWA Championships, which are hosted by Binghamton and are set to run from March 8-9.

Presale tickets are on sale now and run through Dec. 31. Buying an all-session pass before that deadline costs $70.00 and can be purchased here. Tickets for children 12 and under will cost $35 and are available by calling the Binghamton Events Center Ticket Office at 607-777-BTIX.

Following the presale date, all-session ticket prices increase by $5.00 each.
