Scouting VMI

The Keydets were picked to finish sixth in the Southern Conference Preseason Poll and are led by returning All-Conference Team member at 174 pounds, Neal Richards. He was the regular-season Wrestler of the Year, Most Outstanding Wrestler at the conference tournament, and claimed the individual title at the SoCon Championship.

Richards capped off one of the best seasons in VMI wrestling history by earning a trip to the NCAA Championships and finishing the season with a record of 28-6.

Scouting Davidson

The Wildcats took a step forward as a program last season with a sixth-place finish at the 2019 Southern Conference Championship – up 9.5 points from their 2018 Championship total.

Davidson has competed in a pair of tournaments to open the year. Kyle Gorant (133 pounds) secured second at the Southeast Open on Nov. 3, while five Wildcats placed in the top five of the Journey Collegiate Classic on Nov. 10.

LiCastri Reaches 50 Wins

Emmett LiCastri reached the 50-win milestone in his career with a 5-1 record at the 2019 Bearcat Open, hosted by Binghamton on Nov. 10.  The senior 165-pounder currently holds a 51-50 career record.
