Wrestling Places Eight at Keystone Classic

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Eight Franklin & Marshall wrestlers placed at Sunday's Keystone Classic, hosted by Penn. The Diplomats finished with 67.5 team points, good for a sixth-place showing out of 10 teams.

Wil Gil led the way with third place in the 141-pound bracket. He went 5-1 on the day, earning three straight victories to open his tournament and capping off his performance with a 21-10 major over Rider's Robert Cleary in the third-place match.

Emmett LiCastri continued his impressive start to the season with fourth place at 165 pounds and a 3-2 record on the day.

125 Pounds 

Jose Diaz bounced back from a narrow loss in his first bout to record a pair of decision wins and eventually earn sixth place.

157 Pounds

Noah Chan placed seventh, winning his first two matches and adding two more victories in the wrestle backs.

Cole Aaron secured eighth place with four wins on Sunday that included a first-period pin of Sacred Heart's Joe Barcellos and a dominant 16-0 tech. fall against Sacred Heart's Will Schmidt.

Cristiaan Dailey earned a commanding 14-3 major decision in the Championship bracket after registering five takedowns against VMI's Ethan Carpenter.

165 Pounds 

First-year John Crawford picked up an eighth-place finish with two victories that included a 9-0 major decision over Penn.'s Anthony Patsy.

197 Pounds

Following an opening-round loss, Ethan Seeley battled back in the 197-pound consolation bracket with a pair of wins, sealing his seventh-place finish with a 5-1 decision win against VMI's Zach Brown. 

285 Pounds

Cenzo Pelusi secured sixth place. The heavyweight captured a pair of wins in the wrestle backs with back-to-back decisions of 6-2 and 9-5.

F&M heads into its semester break and is set to return to the mats on Wednesday, Dec. 18th, traveling to Gardner-Webb to take on the host Runnin' Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. and Presbyterian at 2:00 p.m.
