Results: Dickinson | Virginia | Drexel 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Franklin & Marshall's No. 18-ranked women's squash team went 1-2 to open competition at the Mid-Atlantic Squash Championships in Washington, D.C. 

Competing in a Round Robin style tournament, featuring conference members Drexel, George Washington, Virginia, and Dickinson, the Diplomats opened with an impressive 9-0 sweep of No. 23 Dickinson. F&M followed with tough 9-0 losses against No. 10 Virginia and No. 8 Drexel. 

The Diplomats moved to 8-8 on the year with the trio of results.

By the Numbers (Dickinson) 

F&M dominated the Red Devils with sweeps at every position on the ladder. Grace Smith rolled at No. 8 with an 11-2, 11-0, 11-4 victory. Ahead 1-0, Katherine Galambos edged her opponent by a 12-10 score in the second frame before finishing off the sweep at No. 4 with an 11-2 win in the third.

By the Numbers (Virginia)

Emily Knapp battled at No. 2, storming out to a 2-0 lead with triumphs of 11-5 and 11-8 in the opening two frames. However, Virginia's Amanda Haywood mounted an improbable comeback and took the last three games.

Audrey Berling battled at the top of the order but came up short with by tough 11-8, 11-7, 11-7 scores. The Dragons captured 3-0 sweeps at all nine spots.
