Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated With 4-0 Win at Goucher

Box Score

BALTIMORE – The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team continued its undefeated start to the 2021 season with a 4-0 win at Goucher on Saturday. The Diplomats (4-0) scored all four of their goals during the first half before securing their third shutout of the year.

Meg O'Callahan scored the first two goals of the day to give her three goals on the young season. She has now recorded at least one point during each of the Diplomats' four wins and has a total of 9 points (3 goals, 3 assists) through four matches. Today's goals marked her second game-winning goal this season. She now has scored 10 career goals, including six game-winners during the first 21 matches of her collegiate career. O'Callahan's goals came during the seventh and 24th minutes of match action.

Catie Kaseta and Sierra Brophy doubled F&M's advantage right before the halftime break with their goals which came just 1:08 apart on the scoreboard. Kaseta's goal was the first of the young season and the second of her career. Brophy scored for the third straight game with her tally just before the half. She now has five goals during the past three matches, including her hat trick against Elizabethtown earlier this week.

Franklin & Marshall dominated the stat sheet with an overall 29-5 advantage in shots over the 90 minute contest. That included a 19-2 edge after just 45 minutes of play. The Diplomats also took seven of the match's 10 corner kick attempts. Caton Raffensperger picked up the victory in net as she stopped the only shot on goal she faced during the opening half. Emily Senko came on to complete the team shutout and went untested during the final 45 minutes of action.

Women's soccer will have a pair of road matches this coming week. Up first will be a non-conference trip to Marywood on Tuesday. That match will get underway at 7 p.m. Centennial Conference action will open for the Diplomats next Saturday when they travel to Chestertown for a 4 p.m. start against Washington College.
