LANCASTER, Pa. – After a dominating win in the season opener on Friday, the Franklin & Marshall men's squash team fell by a 9-0 score to second-ranked Penn on Saturday at the Penn Cup.
The Diplomats battled up and down the lineup, but were unable to secure any games against the national power Quakers. F&M played a number of 11-8 and 11-7 games throughout the later, including each of the top three positions before the visitors from Penn prevailed in the final points. Petr Nohel and Kyle Broadhurst each had strong showings at Nos. 1 and 2, as did Marco DiFilipo at No. 3. Teddy Eill, Noah Katzer, Sam Freed, and Blake Newcomer also won eight points during various games of their matches.
Men's squash will look to secure a third-place finish in the Penn Cup on Sunday morning when the team hosts Chatham at 11 a.m. inside the Mayser Center Squash Courts.
