LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's squash squash team, ranked No. 16 nationally by the College Squash Association, fell to No. 13 Chatham by a 9-0 score on Sunday morning. The Diplomats (1-2) finished the Penn Cup with a 1-2 record and in fourth place over the weekend.
Despite no individual victories, F&M played competitive matches up and down the ladder. That included forcing decisive fifth games at No. 1 with Petr Nohel, No. 4 with Marco DiFilippo, No. 6 with Flavio Hinostroza, and No. 8 with Sam Freed. Jordan Sprecher (No. 2) also took a game during the No. 2 match on the ladder to make the third-place match a much more competitive contest than the final score indicated.
Men's squash will have a week to prepare for its next home match as the Diplomats welcome No. 15 Tufts to the Mayser Center Squash Courts next Saturday at 12 p.m. noon for what is expected to be a very competitive battle with these two teams right next to each other in the national rankings.
