LANCASTER, Pa. – In its first match of 2023, the No. 15 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team was tripped up by No. 18 Williams, 7-2, Friday evening at the Mayser Center.
Petr Nohel and Kyle Broadhurst picked up 2-1 victories in their matches out of the No. 1 and No. 3 slot, respectively. Nohel won his first two games 13-11 and 11-5. After falling in the third game, Nohel closed out the match by taking the fourth game 11-6 for his fourth win of the season. Broadhurst had a similar match, picking up wins in his first two games. After dropping the third game, Broadhurst earned his fifth victory of the season by taking the fourth game 11-2.
Sam Freed put up a tough battle out of the No. 7 slot, but came up just short in a five-game thriller. Freed fought back from a 2-0 deficit by winning the third and fourth game, 11-5 and 11-8. The sophomore pieced together a good fifth game, but was outlasted 11-7 to fall in the match.

No. 15 Franklin & Marshall looks to bounce back on Saturday when it hosts No. 19 Amherst at 12:00 p.m. at the Mayser Center.
