Carlisle, Pa. – The No. 19 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team began the 2023-24 season with a 9-0 sweep over No. 27 Dickinson Friday evening.
The Diplomats generated five sweeps during their win on opening night with
Sharan Punjabi (No. 2),
Noah Katzer (No. 5),
Evann Tan (No. 6),
Sam Freed (No. 7) and
Akshat Agarwal (No. 8) all downing their opponents, 3-0.
Kyle Broadhurst and
Jordan Sprecher both overcame 1-0 deficits by winning three-straight games to defeat their opponents, 3-1, in the No. 1 and No. 4 slot, respectively.
Marco DiFilippo (No. 3) and
Juan Hinostroza (No. 9) each outlasted their opponents through five games to win, 3-2, in their individual matches.
Blake Newcomer also claimed a sweep in his exhibition during the 10th individual match of the night.
Franklin & Marshall gets set to take on Penn Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
