Carlisle, Pa. – The No. 25 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team fell, 7-1, in its season opener at Dickinson Friday evening.
Playing out of the No. 4 slot,
Zarine Gidwaney picked up the only victory on the day for the Diplomats. Facing a 1-0 deficit, Gidwaney won three-unanswered to claim her first individual win of the new season.
In her first collegiate match,
Tatum Long put up a battle in the No. 6 slot as she took her opponent to five games. However, she was edged 12-10 in the fifth game to fall in her match.
Franklin & Marshall will look to bounce back as it plays Drexel Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
