LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team had a program-record four players named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region V team.
Mikaela Timmermans and
Lillian Williams both earned firs-team all-region honors, while
Alison Francis and
Alex Wilson were selected third-team all-region All four earned all-region honors for the first time in their respective careers.
As well as earning first-team all-region, Timmermans was also selected first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) after a season that featured 21 points, seven goals, and seven assists on offense. On the defensive side of the ball, Timmermans was a staple on the F&M back line as she helped the Diplomats rack up 11 shutouts this fall.
After being named first-team All-CC, Williams was recognized as first-team all-region after a stellar sophomore campaign. Williams led the Diplomats with eight goals, as well as scoring the game-winning goals in the victories against York (Pa.), Bryn Mawr, and Penn State Berks. The forward also concluded the fall with 20 points and four assists.
Francis was named third-team All-Region for the first time in her career after a great senior season. The forward scored five goals and was credited with six assists. Francis highlighted her year with a seven-point performance against Marywood, where she recorded a hat truck while adding an assist in the victory.
Appearing in all 20 games with 16 starts, Wilson was tabbed third-team all-region after recording one goal and two assists in her junior year. Wilson scored her first-career goal in the Diplomats 5-0 win over Haverford in September. The West Chester, Pennsylvania native has also registered the team's third-highest number of minutes played this season with 1,509.
The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team advanced to the Centennial Conference Tournament Championship for the second time in program history to earn a bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Diplomats concluded the 2023 season with an overall record of 12-4-4 and a conference record of 6-2-2. Â
