PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 19 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team edged No. 20 Colby, 5-4, in the final round of the Walker Cup consolation bracket at the CSA Team Championships.
The Diplomats got off to a hot start, picking up wins in each of the first four slots with sweeps coming from Audrey Berling (No. 1), Gurlin Kaur (No. 2), and Aryaa Ogale (No. 3). Down 1-0 in the No. 4 slot, Zarine Gidwaney climbed all the way back – winning three straight games to claim her 12th victory of the season.
Zoe Quayle (No. 6) gave F&M the advantage on the team total by earning a sweep over her opponent for her 12th win of the year.
With the win, Franklin & Marshall stood alone as the last team standing in the consolation bracket of the Walker Cup. No. 17 Middlebury claimed the Walker Cup title in the main bracket as it took down No. 18 Georgetown in the finals, 6-3.
