CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 19 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team wrapped up the Mid-Atlantic Squash Championships with a 7-1 victory over No. 24 Dickinson in the fifth-place match Sunday afternoon.
Gurlin Kaur earned a hard-fought victory out of the No. 2 slot as she won a five-game thriller for her 12th win of the season. Kaur outscored her opponent 12-10 in the fifth game to solidify the win. From that point, the Diplomats cruised in their matches against the Red Devils. Aryaa Ogale (No. 3), Zarine Gidwaney (No. 4), Cate Costin (No. 5), Zoe Quayle (No. 6), and Gabby Ramos (No. 7) all picked up 3-0 sweeps over their opposition. Sara Ghorashi tallied a forfeited victory out of the No. 8 slot.
Audrey Berling battled to the end in the No. 1 slot, but was outlasted in five games. Berling answered her opponent with an 11-4 win in the second game and an 11-2 victory in the fourth, but just couldn't gain the edge in the fifth.
