Five Wrestlers Earn EIWA Academic Achievement Award

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall wrestling team was well-represented on the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Academic Achievement Award release as the Diplomats had a five scholar-athletes earn this recognition following the 2022-23 season.

In order to earn this honor, a wrestler must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above and participated in the 2023 EIWA Tournament, or have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships through the EIWA Tournament.

Diplomats receiving the award were Mason Leiphart (125 lbs.), Aidan O'Shea (141 lbs.), Noah Bash (165 lbs.), Noah Fox (174 lbs.), and James Conway (184 lbs.). Fox and Conway each received the award for the second consecutive season after competing in their second EIWA Tournament. Leiphart, O'Shea, and Bash all earned their first career honors after making their EIWA Postseason debuts this winter. Franklin & Marshall's five EIWA Academic Achievement recipients represent the second-most in program history, just shy of last year's program-record seven honorees.

In addition to the team's academic success, both Leiphart and Conway were EIWA placewinners for the Diplomats this season as F&M went 8-5 in dual meet competition. Both placewinners were first-time EIWA medalists, with Leiphart additionally led all of Division I in technical falls amongst wrestlers at all weight classes.
