BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Returning to action for the first time since December 2, the Franklin & Marshall Men's Swimming team fell to both Bloomsburg and TCNJ in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon.
The Diplomats did not register an individual win on the day, but did see eight top-three finishes across 14 races. Leading the way for F&M was Matthew Hurford and
Patrick Rooney, both of whom tallied three top-three performances.
Hurford finished second in the 200-yard freestyle and third in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 1:45.75 and 47.94, respectively. He was also a part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that came in third, joining
John Devaney, Tomek Smolinski and
Ben Lockey.
Rooney placed third in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke with times of 1:00.72 and 2:14.69, respectively. Additionally, he helped the 200-yard freestyle relay team come in third along with
Sean Conley,
Evan Willertz and Devaney.
Devaney recorded a top-three finish individually, placing third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.91.
The Diplomats will now return home to welcome Johns Hopkins to the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center on Saturday, January 20 at 1 p.m.
