BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - In its first meet in over a month, the Franklin & Marshall Women's Swimming team was defeated by Bloomsburg 171-88.
Sophie Moyer recorded the lone two first-place finishes on the afternoon for the Diplomats, winning both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke with times of 1:09.84 and 2:34.06, respectively. She also helped the 200-yard freestyle relay team place second with a time of 1:53.27, joining
Sophie Bergstrom,
Caitlin Barr and
Helen Lahmann-Metcalfe in the effort.Â
Bergstrom came 1.13 seconds shy of coming in first in the 100-yard backstroke, ultimately finishing in second with a time of 1:02.03. Similarly, Lahmann-Metcalfe recorded a time of 25.66 in the 50-yard freestyle, which was 1.40 seconds shy of first place.Â
Barr placed second in the 100-yard freestyle, falling short of first place by less than one second. She also saw a second place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.79.
F&M will now return home to face Johns Hopkins at the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center on Saturday, January 20 at 1 p.m.
