Lancaster, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team dropped its second meet of the season, falling to Centennial Conference opponent Gettysburg 170-91 on Friday evening. The team totaled four event wins and 13 top-three finishes across the evening.
In the final event of the night,
Sam Kamdin,
Ben Lockey,
Thomas Smolinski, and
John Devaney secured an event win in the 200 freestyle relay, while
Henry Tavens,
Tim Turnbull,
Evan Willertz, and
Brady Saunders were third in the event.
Kamdin,
Patrick Rooney, Willertz, and Tavens were second in the 400 medley relay to open the evening.
Rooney swept the breaststroke races, winning both the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
Lockey earned a 50 freestyle victory, while Smolinski and Devaney rounded out the podium for a Diplomat sweep.
Other podiums included silver for Kamdin in the 100 freestyle, third for
Luke Healey in the 100 breaststroke, and third for
Luke Circus in the 200 breaststroke. Willertz also earned bronze in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly.
The Diplomats take on their first non-conference opponent as they host Mary Washington on Saturday, November 2, at noon.
