No. 13 Men's Squash Overpowers No. 30 Haverford, Loses to No. 7 Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 13 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team (3-2) split its two matches on Sunday with a 9-0 win over No. 30 Haverford (1-4) and an 8-1 loss to No. 7 Drexel (2-1).

The Diplomats earned a dominant sweep over Haverford in their first match Sunday morning. Sharan Punjabi (No. 2), Aditya Chandani (No. 3) and Evann Tan (No. 6) each swept their respective opponents to earn their fourth victories of the season. Sam Freed outlasted his opponent in the No. 5 slot, 3-1, to claim his third win of the year. Trailing 1-0, Freed won three-straight games to overtake his opponent in the match.

Marco DiFilippo (No. 1), Noah Katzer (No. 4), Akshat Agarwal (No. 7), Juan Hinostroza (No. 8) and Hunar Kohli (No. 9) each earned a victory in their respective matches to claim their second win of the season. DiFilippo held off his opponent, 3-1, while the other four Diplomats swept the Fords.

Aman Nayyar overpowered his opponent in the exhibition matcha as the first-year earned a 3-0 sweep.

F&M was held off in its final match of the day against No. 7 Drexel Sunday afternoon. Alexander Arader earned the lone victory for the Diplomats in the second match as he claimed a 3-1 win. Leading 2-1, Arader downed his opponent, 11-8, in the fourth game for his second win of the season.

No. 13 Franklin & Marshall returns in the new year when it hosts Williams on Friday, January 10 at 4:00 p.m.
