No. 17 Men's Squash Downs No. 19 MIT, 6-3, in MASC Third-Place Match

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 17 Franklin & Marshall men's squash team concluded the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference (MASC) Championships with a 6-3 victory over No. 19 MIT in Sunday afternoon's third-place match.

Increasing his team-leading win total to 16 this season, Jordan Sprecher earned a 3-0 sweep in the No. 4 slot by claiming wins of 11-4, 11-7, and 11-5 in the match. Marco DiFilippo overcame a 1-0 deficit in the No. 3 slot by winning three-straight games for his 14th victory this season. Kyle Broadhurst (No. 1) and Sharan Punjabi (No. 2) both picked up 3-1 wins in their respective matches to each earn their 13th individual victories of the winter. Sam Freed (No. 6) out-dueled his opponent in a five-game battle to win, 3-2. Freed picked up victories of 11-8 and 11-5 in the final two games to earn his 11th win of the season. Blake Newcomer claimed a 3-1 win in the No. 9 slot for his seventh victory of the year.

After winning the third-place match at the MASC Championships, Franklin & Marshall now prepares to compete in the CSA Team National Championships starting on Friday.
